The following is a letter to a colleague of mine explaining the nuts, bolts, grease, and ham and cheese of the internet, as I learned it, and how it applies to the project my colleague, we’ll call him J, is working on. The sensible thing to do here at first is to explain the machine that is World Famous Design Junkies, my main project at the moment, and how it functions in the greater world of the internet. What you will learn below is two years of brain melting consideration turned to simple code and a few clicks and jpegs, all the while considering that, as with all projects on this still brand-new arena called the internet, the most important lesson you can learn about the world wide web is the one everyone is about to learn.
What’s that mean?
It means anyone who tells you they’re an expert on these internets is a liar.
